MIL-PRF-45307C(AT)
3.2.5 Anodizing. All aluminum-alloy parts shall be anodized in accordance with the
contractor's specifications and shall meet all of the operational and environmental requirements
specified herein (see 3.2 and 4.6.1).
3.2.6 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered,
or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided
that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes
economically advantageous life cycle costs (see 3.2, 4.6.1 and 6.3.1).
3.3 Design and construction. The pump assembly shall be designed and constructed to
meet the requirements of section 3. The pump assembly Drawing 11654400 mounting provisions
shall be in accordance with Drawing 11654401. The external configuration of the pump assembly
shall approximate the shapes of its three (3) major components; housing assembly Drawing
8674351, handle assembly Drawing 10911437 and pump Drawing 11654401 (see 4.4.1 and
4.6.1).
3.3.1 Lubrication. The pump shall be self-lubricating with no provision for lubrication
other than circulating hydraulic oil from the normal hydraulic oil supply (see 4.4.1 and 4.6.1).
3.3.2 Displacement. The pump shall have a nominal displacement of 0.80 in.3 (13 cm3)
per revolution (see 4.6.1).
3.3.3 Direction of rotation. The pump shall operate in either direction of rotation with
maximum efficiency (see 4.6.2.1). Direction of flow shall reverse when shaft rotation is reversed
(see 4.6.1).
3.3.4 Standard parts. Military standard parts shall be incorporated wherever possible.
Commercial standard parts may be used, provided they are interchangeable with military standard
parts without modification (see 4.4.1 and 4.6.1).
3.4 Performance. The pump shall be capable of satisfactory operation as specified herein,
when using hydraulic oil as specified in 4.6.2.
3.4.1 Volumetric efficiency. The distance traveled by the piston rod of the cylinder shall
not be less than 0.210 inch (in.) (0.53 centimeters (cm)) per revolution of pump (see 3.4.6, 3.4.7,
and 4.6.2.1).
3.4.2 Hydraulic backlash. The hydraulic backlash shall not exceed 8 degrees
(see 4.6.2.2).
