4.2.1 Verification alternatives. The manufacturer may propose alternative test methods,
techniques, or equipment, including the application of statistical processes control, tool control, or
cost-effective sampling procedures, to verify performance. See the contract for alternatives that
replace verification required by this specification.
4.2.2 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), all inspections shall be
performed under the following controlled ambient conditions:
a. Temperature: 23 ± 10°C (73 ± 18°F)
b. Atmospheric pressure: 92 ± 11 kPa (28.5 (+2.0, - 4.5) inches of Hg)
c. Relative humidity: 50 + 30 percent (%).
4.3 Order of inspections. The inspection sequence may be in any order.
4.3.1 First article inspection. When specified (see 6.2 and 6.3), first article inspection shall
include all the verifications listed in table V.
